'Tallest slide in Norwich' planned at Wensum Park
A brand new set of play equipment is set to be installed next week
The 'tallest slide in Norwich' is planned as part of a major revamp of the play area at the city's Wensum Park.
At around six metres tall, the new slide tower will be installed as part of work starting Monday (January 16).
Other new play equipment to be installed include a rope swing, multi-unit climbing frame and spinning seats.
Funding for the project has come from housebuilders, who have contributed funding to improve facilities in the local community.
Cllr Adam Giles, of Norwich City Council - which owns and runs Wensum Park - said:
“This fantastic new equipment is a great addition to Wensum Park and part of our commitment to making sure our open spaces are a great place for everyone to enjoy.
“The play equipment will be in place ready to be used in spring, so please bear with us while the main play area is closed for this exciting upgrade.”
