The Suffolk Agricultural Association took the decision to cancel plans for 2021 due to the uncertainty in the coming months and the latest government guidelines.
It's after their volunteer committee, who are responsible for putting on the Suffolk Show, concluded it wouldn't be possible to confidently put on the event they intended for next year.
In a statement, the Suffolk Agricultural Association said: "This has been an extraordinarily difficult decision to take but we felt it right at this particular time, in order to create clarity sooner rather than later and further reduce any potential health and safety, reputational and financial risks to the Association.
"Whilst recognising this is hugely disappointing for so many, we do feel that over the course of 2021, we can put on activities central to our core purpose and to this end are planning a series of smaller focussed events, such as equine and livestock shows."
The CLA, a membership organisation for owners of land or businesses in rural England and Wales, expressed its disappointment but understanding.
East Acting Regional Director, Nick Sandford, said: "It is such sad news to hear that the Suffolk Show will not take place in 2021 but given the continued uncertainty caused by Covid-19 it is the right decision. It is simply impossible to know what the situation with the virus will be like by next summer.
"The Suffolk Show is a stand out date in the calendar and will be sorely missed next year but we, along with thousands of others, will be there in 2022"
The Suffolk Agricultural Association says it will now focus all efforts on planning for a "fantastic" event in 2022.
