Six people rescued from sinking boat near Great Yarmouth

A helicopter and rescue boat were used.

Six people have been rescued from the River Bure near Great Yarmouth - after their boat ran aground and started taking on water.

It happened just before 10pm on Sunday (14 September).

Hemsby Lifeboat crews and a rescue helicopter were called in after the vessel began tilting badly.

All six on board were safely evacuated and taken to hospital.

Hemsby Lifeboat said those on board had been in "real peril"
