Silfield crash leaves child in life-threatening condition

A crash in Silfield has left five people injured, including a child who's in a life-threatening condition.

Emergency services were called to Wattlefield Road at 5.49pm yesterday (Wednesday 20th August 2025) following reports of a serious collision involving a black Mercedes AMG and a black Kia Ceed.

The road was closed whilst emergency services attended the scene including fire, ambulance and air ambulance.

One child was flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries, and all remain under treatment

The driver of the Mercedes, a man aged in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He's in hospital with serious injuries.

A woman aged in her 40s, who was a passenger, also remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Norfolk Police are asking anyone with information or footage of the crash to get in touch, quoting reference number NC-20082025-301.
