A man has died, after he was found with serious injuries near Norwich Castle this morning (21st January).

Norfolk Constabulary said officers were sent to Castle Gardens at 9.57am, and ambulance crews also attended.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his next of kin have been informed, officers said.

His injuries were consistent with a fall from height.

A cordon was in place until shortly after 1pm.

In a statement, Norfolk Constabulary added: "Enquires are underway to establish exactly what happened. Anyone with information should contact Norfolk Police quoting incident 79 of 21 January 2025."

Norwich Castle Museum and Art Gallery also confirmed the nearby museum was closed earlier in the day, but a notice on their website now states: "Following an earlier incident in Castle Gardens, the museum has now reopened."
