More roof supports beams have been put up in King's Lynn Queen Elizabeth hospital- but staff there are warning this approach must not come in place of new funding.

It's after we revealed earlier this week that the number of props in the West-Norfolk trust has doubled in four months to 470.

Nichola Hunter is their Associate Director of Estates & Facilities.

She told us what happens if they don't get new funding soon: "Then we're going to have to look at Plan B, which will be looking at a different structure and spending a lot of money on a hospital that really needs replacing, which we really don't want to do- we'd rather have that money spent on a new hospital.

"To be able to provide the best service for our patients and staff, and to have a fit for purpose hospital we need to be on the new hospital list.

"Thank you to everyone for you patience, if we've had delays going into the site due to the amount of builders and contractors that we have here, at the moment.

"Apologies if there's any noise disruption, we're doing our best to maintain the service and also move at speed to modernise our hospital."

The Care Quality Commission brought the trust out of special measures last month and QEH remains open as normal for everyone and it's still safe to come in for treatment.

The Government say their long-list for new funding is going to be released very soon.
