Police search lake at UEA in hunt for missing man
40 year old James Whitman hasn't been seen since leaving the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital on Monday
Police say they're now searching a lake for a man who went missing from the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.
40 year old James Whitman hasn't been seen since leaving the hospital ar around 4pm on Monday.
Since then police have been carrying house to house enquiries and also searching using police dogs and drone.
They now think something may have happened to James and are focusing efforts on the lake at the UEA.
Inspector Adam Binns, who is leading the search for James, said: “We’ve been looking for James for the past three days, we've searched the local area using police dogs and drones, helped by volunteers from Norfolk Lowland Search and Rescue, carried out house-to-house enquiries and investigated reported sightings, and I’m sorry to say that, unfortunately, there isn’t any sign of him.
“This, combined with the results of our enquiries, suggests something may have happened to him. Today our focus turns to searching the lake at the UEA.”
James is described as white, 5ft 10in with short blonde hair.
He was last seen wearing a navy-blue polo top with ‘A’ on his chest, navy-blue trousers, and blue and white trainers.
He had a red and black rucksack at the time.
