PC Luke Hall is taking on the ultimate challenge in aid of a homeless organisation

A police officer in Suffolk is on track to reach his goal of 2,222 push ups in 22 hours for a local charity.
PC Luke Hall will take on the challenge on 22 May in aid of The Bus Shelter Ipswich, which provides practical and emotional support to homeless people in the area.
The service has continued throughout the pandemic and the cold winter months, offering food, hot drinks and shelter for vulnerable people.
Luke, who reached 1,400 push ups in one day last week, aims to reach 1,500 this week, before he then reduces the number until the actual challenge to avoid injury.
Suffolk Police Constable Luke Hall said:
"It means an awful lot to me but it means even more to the guys who, unfortunately, use the bus shelter as a place to stay. It's going to mean the world to them. I'm really hoping that we raise £2,222 and I can present that to the bus shelter.
"They are completely community led, and the money that they require is hopefully what I'm going to be able to give them to keep going for another couple of months, six months, a year.
"Whatever I can do to help is what I'm going to do."
Luke has currently raised over £1,400 of his £2,222 target just under a month until it takes place.
He was inspired by celebrity chef and military veteran in the US, Andre Rush, who does the same amount of push ups every weekday to raise awareness of the estimated 22 veterans in his country who commit suicide every day.
Speaking on his Just Giving page, Luke said: "This man is inspirational, so much that I began trying to reach it."
