Police provisionally name man found dead in Trowse

He was found in water on Saturday

Police are investigating after the body of a man was discovered in the water near Whitlingham Lane in Trowse on Saturday (20 March).

Officers were called at approximately 8.43am on Saturday after receiving a report that a body had been seen along the river bank. Part of Whitingham Lane and the walkway around the lake was temporarily closed while emergency services attended the scene. The cordon has since been lifted.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a Home Office post mortem is due to take place tomorrow (23 March).

Pending formal Coroner's inquest proceedings, police have provisionally identified the body of the deceased as James Brownlee, age 25, from Norwich. His family has been informed.
