Police investigating sexual assault in Wells-next-the-Sea

Police are investigating a sexual assault in Wells-next-the-Sea, that took place yesterday.

It happened around 8.40am on Mill Road when the victim, a girl of high school age was approached by an unknown man.

The suspect is described as approximately 6ft, medium build, aged in his late teens with short light brown hair and a fringe, with a tattoo on his right knee.

He is believed to have been wearing a dark blue t-shirt with black writing and an image of a skull and navy cargo shorts and trainers.

Officers are supporting the victim and enquiries are ongoing.

Police are conducting daily patrols in the area in order to offer reassurance. Anyone with concerns are encouraged to speak with local officers.
