Pink Ladies in Norfolk and Suffolk raise £1 million for charity
They were helped out by some bright pink tractors
A group of women from across Norfolk and North Suffolk have raised a million pounds for charity - with the help of some bright pink tractors.
Every year for twenty years, the Pink Ladies have ridden decorated pink tractors along a 20-mile route - all in aid of Cancer Research UK's breast cancer appeal - and they've finally reached their target.
The 2023 event took place last week, with a convoy of 201 ladies swathed in pink taking to 197 decorated tractors - and now, organiser of the Pink Ladies' Tractor Road Run, Annie Chapman, has announced that her Pink Ladies have achieved their goal of raising £104,000 this year to bring the grand total of the Run to one million pounds.
She said: “Organising the Ladies' Tractor Road Run has not been without its challenges, to put it mildly! But any doubts as to whether it was all worthwhile were completely dispelled on what was a perfect day for me.
“I cannot describe how special it was to be surrounded by all my Pink Ladies, many of them new, to have the strength of our incredible back-up team behind me, to be uplifted by the many hundreds of well-wishers cheering round the route...
“I am extremely proud of the Ladies' Tractor Road Run, but I am also constantly humbled by the kindness that surrounds us."
