Christian Fassnacht and Gabriel Sara both scored as Norwich City recorded a 2-0 win over Ligue 1 side Toulouse.
After two goalless periods, the Swiss international opened his Canaries account with a header from Sara's corner.
Sara then got himself on the scoresheet, curling a free-kick into the far bottom corner.
The game in Kufstein was played in three 40-minute segments, with new signing Fassnacht, featuring in the final 40 minutes of the fixture.
Boss David Wagner was pleased with the result: "It was a very busy afternoon because we played 120 minutes... I think everything went how we wanted it...
"We had a game against a very good and a very physical opponent. They're the French Cup winners and play in European competition in the upcoming season, so that speaks for itself how much quality we faced today.
"How we defended, stuck together, and kept another clean sheet was good. For both teams, it was hard to create opportunities. The pitch was very dry and the grass was very long.
"This was in the first third of the game, but in the last third of the game after it had rained, you were able to see both teams can offensively keep the ball much better and create opportunities. The final third, offensively was our best."
Gabriel Sara was also pleased with the match: "I'm very happy with this goal and this assist, and I'm happy to be back. It's exciting to start playing again, so I'm so happy...
"Everyday I'm improving a little bit. Today, 40 minutes was very important for me. I'm feeling great, a little bit tired but with every game and every training, I'm improving. I think this is great for me and great for the team.
"It was an amazing goal. I've been training for that, even since the last season. I spoke with my dad yesterday, and he said that this season I have to start scoring with free-kicks and penalties! I'm happy to score here today, and hope to score more during the season."
