Norwich Theatre announces new season with focus on women
SIX The Musical will kick off the new season of events at Norwich Theatre.
Norwich Theatre has confirmed its new season of shows will kick off in September, with a focus on women in the industry.
SIX The Musical will open the season at the Theatre Royal, having held its world premier at the Norwich Playhouse Theatre back in 2018.
Since then its gone on to receive nominations for five Olivier Awards.
It's on from the 20th September.
The from the 23rd November, its producer Kenny Wax, is bringing a new musical production called 'Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World' to the Playhouse.
It follows a young women who meets iconic women from history including: Frida Khalo, Rosa Parks, Amelia Earhart, Marie Curie, and Emmeline Pankhurst.
It's based on Kate Pankhurst's picture book.
Then, completing the line-up of strong female-led musicals, Dreamgirls will hit the stage at the Theatre Royal in May 2022.
'The Dreams' - Effie, Lorrell and Deena - will be coming straight from the West End to tell their story as young singers in the turbulent 1960s.
There's also a long list of comedians performing this season including: Jenny Eclair, Sofie Hagen, Louisa Omelian, and Bridget Christie.

"In placing the voices of women at the forefront, and giving visibility to their stories, this season celebrates all who identify as women in all of their humanity."

Add in some comedy, drama and shows for our younger audience and we are truly back with a bang!"
