David Wagner is taking charge of his first championship match as Norwich City boss, this afternoon.

The Canaries are taking on Preston away from home today and are looking to end their bad run of form

They lost in the FA Cup against Blackburn last Sunday and are 3 points off the playoff places.

"He has got promoted out of this league"

We've been hearing from Norwich's Sporting Director, Stuart Webber.

He told us why they appointed the former Huddersfield boss:

"He has got promoted out of this league, he has stayed in the Premier League and worked at a club where finances aren't the biggest.

"He has developed players whether that's at Dortmund 2nd team, at Schalke, Young Boys and Huddersfield. He's somebody who understands that and he's somebody who I've worked with previously."

"First it's about getting the processes right then it's trying to build"

He says the foundations are there for the side to turn a corner:

"Very quickly the guys who go up to Preston will see a difference again, and that'll not necessarily be results because we can't promise that. The guys that go up to Coventry the week after, will again go, this is looking better.

"Again, it might end up being two defeats but I'd like to think that if people look at it through an open mind they'll go okay we can see what David is trying to achieve with the team."

"I'm a big believer that it's about processes. If you get your processes right, performances normally follow, then if you get performances right results then normally follow.

"First it's about getting the processes right then it's trying to build step by step the performance levels. With all that comes confidence and then wins. Then hopefully we start to get closer to where we want to achieve."
