A Paramotor pilot from Norwich who raised nearly fifteen thousand pounds for Alzheimer’s Research UK says he's now planning his next fundraising challenge.

Dan Jones flew 790 miles in seven days and has raised ÂŁ13,266.91, to date.

He took off from John O'Groats in Scotland on 16 August and arrived at Land's End, on the next Monday.

The money Mr Jones raised, put him in the top 1% of fundraisers on JustGiving last month.

He told us that he now plans to attempt the height record for flying in 2023. He says this challenge will need a great deal of planning such as clearance from air-traffic control and a good supply of oxygen tanks, that will be needed to ensure his breathing is unaffected.

He went on to say that he only started flying in 2019 and sets himself a new challenge every year, that puts him through his paces and helps raise money for a charity that's "close to his heart".

"2019 was learn to fly, 2020 was reach hundred flights and 2021 was fly the length of the country".

He said that regardless of the challenge involved, the most important thing is raising money for a charity that's "close to my and my family's heart". He said this is especially important now when individual fundraising for charities have been "restricted by Covid".

He told us that his last flight was designed to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK because his dad's parents, passed away because of the disease.

He concluded by saying that his dad reading out all the messages of support "really brought home" how much money he'd raised and what he'd achieved.
