27-year-old charged with murder after man’s death in Norwich

A 27-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in his 30s at a property in Norwich.

The incident occurred on Saturday (22nd November) at an address on Somerleyton Street.

Emergency services were called in the morning after the man was found with a serious injury.

A Home Office post-mortem examination completed yesterday (23 November) confirmed the cause of death to be a stab wound to the chest.

This evening, Benjamin Katabana, a Congolese national from Somerleyton Street, Norwich, was formally charged with murder.

Katabana has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Norwich Magistrates’ Court this morning (Monday, 24th November).

Police have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident while investigations remain ongoing.
