Norwich man guilty of sexually exploiting woman
Rodney Johnston, aged 67, was investigated by police after he tried to take the woman out of the country against her wishes.
A man has been convicted of coercing a woman to have sex with multiple men over three decades while he took photographs and filmed the abuse.
Rodney Johnston, aged 67, of HMP Norwich, threatened the woman if she did not comply with his demands.
The abuse comprised “outings” to secluded woodland or pre-arranged hotel rooms where the victim would be made to engage sexually with multiple men.
Further inquiries from police uncovered the scale of his offending.
He was found guilty on Wednesday (3 September) at Norwich Crown Court of multiple offences including three counts of procuring a woman to have sexual intercourse by threats or intimidation between 1 January 1994 and 30 April 2004, two counts of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent between 1 May 2004 and 19 July 2024 and one count of intimidation of a witness – on 20 July 2024 and 28 July 2024.
The jury reached its verdicts following an eight-week trial.
Throughout the trial, Johnston denied all the charges and claimed the acts were consensual.
