Pukki back in training as Norwich City prepare for Cardiff visit
Boss David Wagner has been giving an injury update
Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki has returned to training and could be involved for the visit of Cardiff City tomorrow.
Pukki suffered a slight calf injury and his absence earlier this month, along with winger Josh Sargent, forced new boss David Wagner to rethink his attacking options.
Kieran Dowell who looks set to be out until late-April after picking up a knee injury in the 3 -1 win against Birmingham.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Wagner said: "If everything goes to plan, Teemu will train today. If that is without issue, he'll be in the squad"
"Kieran has a knee injury, he will be out until the second part of April. We wish him all the best and will support him to get back on the level that he has shown.
"He won't need surgery but it will take time. It happened very early, after five minutes when he had a great movement in the box. I was quite surprised after the game when I saw the diagnosis on the scan.
"We will miss him like we miss Josh, and we miss Teemu. But even though we've missed them, everyone has done their job and we haven't got carried away with injuries.
"We have hope that Josh will be back before the international break but not tomorrow and probably not Millwall."
Wagner also heaped praise on Chilean midfielder Marcelino Núñez, who found the net twice during the 3 - 1 win over Birmingham.
"We should not underestimate, he is a young lad, 22, and has come here from South America. He had a dip in form but the important thing is you work against that, which is what he has done.
"He hasn't played in the central position very often but now he has done it to a high level, and deserves all the praise he gets for it."
Norwich head into the fixture 9th in the Championship, with just three points separating them and 4th placed Blackburn.
Cardiff are struggling and currently sit 21st in the league.
