Two Norwich fans say they're got mixed feelings ahead their teams trip to Liverpool for the FA Cup
David Wagner's men take on the side currently topping the Premier League table in the 4th round of the competition
Two Norwich fans tells us they're got mixed feelings ahead of the Canaries trip to Liverpool in the FA Cup, this afternoon.
David Wagner's men take on the side currently topping the Premier League table in the 4th round of the competition. With the winner taking a step closer to Wembley.
"Too passive in the past"
Rob Sainty is chair of the Canaries Trust- a supporters group with a share in the club:
"I'm feeling a lot happier going into this game versus our earlier tie against Bristol Rovers, because we've found a bit of form.
"I think one of the reasons we've got some more points on the board is because we've been more positive on the pitch.
"We've been much too passive in the past. But in the last couple of games we've taken the game to opposition.
"I hope we'll continue this at Liverpool- we look a better side when we try and be on the front foot more. If we can continue that hopefully a promotion push is still possible.
"Decent performance, where we don't let ourselves down"
"A win would be fantastic and a cup run is always good. That being said, I think the FA cup has become massively devalued over the last 20 years, thanks to the attitude of the big teams. But while a win would be great it's obviously unlikely
"Liverpool might have too much quality, certainly at home. All I want to see from the game is a decent performance, where we don't let ourselves down. It's also so important that we don't pick up an injuries that could impact our league situation.

Lorraine Taylor has been a Norwich fan for nearly 50 years:
“Obviously I would love to see us win but I think it'll be an easy win for Liverpool, there’s such a gulf between the Premier League with their money and the second tier. I would love to see us get a win or even get a draw and bring them back to Carrow Road.”
“I think we need to play our strongest team regardless of the league fixtures that are coming up, if we sit back and defend like we have done in recent weeks I don’t think it’s going to end well and I think Liverpool may be putting quite a few goals against us.”
"Football’s a funny old game"
“Any win would be brilliant but a win against one of the top teams in the country would give the players, the club and the fans a real boost and would give the team the confidence to kick on and challenge for the play-offs.”
“In a way it’s sort of a free hit, nobody’s expecting us to go there and win so you never know. As Jimmy Greaves once said, football’s a funny old game.”
How have Norwich City got here?
This follows a 3-1 win over Bristol Rovers in a third round replay last week.
The last time Norwich and Liverpool met was in the fifth round of the FA Cup in March 2022 where they lost 2-1 to Liverpool.
The Canaries will be looking to end a 7-game losing streak against the team since they drew in 2015 to progress to the fifth round.
Kick-off is at 2.30pm
