Norwich fans, who we've been speaking to, are telling us it's important that their new boss is given time and space to him, to put his stamp and identity on the team.

Johannes Hoff Thorrup's first season as head-coach gets underway just after midday in the championship, today, away against newly promoted Oxford United.

The 35 year-old from Denmark took over David Wagner in late May, after they were dumped out of the Championship promotion Play-Offs in humiliating fashion by Leeds United.

He'll be leading Norwich into their third consecutive season in the Championship, after the team finished sixth last season.

"Excited by the new personnel and fresh start"

Rob Sainty is chair of the club's official supporters group- 'The Canaries Trust':

"We're going to see some perhaps quiet hair-raising passing across the front of our own box. With it being the stages, there is going to be some mistakes that come from that and elsewhere. That being said it's quite clear that he isn't going to ask his team to make at least 30 passes before they put the ball in the box. Something we saw a lot of last season.

Chris Newby follows Norwich from Portugal:

"I think it's going to be a tricky game, against Oxford. They've just been promoted to the championship and we know ourselves how you can ride that crest of a wave to your advantage. But I'm nevertheless excited by the new personnel and fresh start

Lorraine Taylor has followed the club for over 50 years:

"I'm really looking forward to what the new boss brings to Norwich and the Championship. No disrespect to Oxford but on paper we should easily beat them. I'm hoping, but not expecting a comfortable win".

What's next for the Canaries?

Norwich face Stevenage in the first round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday, at Carrow Road.

The Canaries then have back-to-back home games against Blackburn Rovers and recently relegated, Sheffield United.
