A Norwich man's been charged with multiple offences following an incident in which a vehicle failed to stop for officers.

Police attempted to stop a vehicle being driven on Burgh Road, Aylsham shortly after 1pm on Monday 30 October 2023.

The driver fled the scene and was detained by officers shortly afterwards.

He was arrested and taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

40 year old Shaun Roode, of Watson Grove, was later charged with:

  • Driving without insurance
  • Driving in a manner not in accordance with his license
  • Failing a preliminary motor vehicle test
  • Failing to stop when required
  • Assaulting an emergency worker

He was released on bail and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court on 19 December 2023.

Two further occupants of the car were arrested at the scene.

A man, in his 30s, and a woman, in her 50s, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

They have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
