It's after police discovered an established cannabis supply business in Norfolk.

Eve Sizeland, aged 35, of Lindley Close, Norwich, was jailed for five years at Norwich Crown Court after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply a class B drug and acquiring, using or possessing criminal property between 27th November 2020 and 30th September 2021.

Samuel Masters, age 33, of Friends Road, Norwich, was also jailed for 32 months at Norwich Crown Court today (10 March 2022) after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply a Class B drug between 27 November 2020 and 30 September 2021, and one count of acquiring, using or possessing criminal property on 10 April 2021.

Both Sizeland and Masters pleaded guilty to all offences at a court hearing in November 2021.

The court heard how an incident at Sizeland’s home in November 2020 led officers to seize a small amount of cannabis. An investigation was launched in January 2021 after officers spotted Masters trying to hide more 1kg of cannabis during another visit to the property. Forensic analysis later showed both Masters and Sizeland’s fingerprints on the packaging.

The defendants were arrested and taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. They were subsequently released under investigation while enquiries continued.

On 10 April 2021, officers stopped Sizeland driving a Ford KA, and Masters, who was riding a motorbike, travelling in convoy in Trinity Street, Norwich. Masters told officers he was carrying cannabis and more than ÂŁ9,000 in cash in his rucksack along with a large quantity of cannabis.

When she was stopped, Sizeland told officers there were items in the boot of the car that she “shouldn’t have”. A subsequent search by officers uncovered more than 5kg of cannabis and £1,671.12 in cash.

Sizeland and Masters were arrested and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. They were later released under investigation while enquiries continued.

A further search of Sizeland’s home on 10 Jun 2021 uncovered more than 500g of cannabis and £10,000. Neither Sizeland nor Masters were at the property at the time but Sizeland later voluntarily attended Aylsham Police Investigation Centre and was interviewed by officers.

PC James Loftus of South Norfolk and Broadland Neighbourhood Policing Team continued to build a case against both defendants, and his enquiries led to officers executing another warrant at Sizeland’s home address on 30 September 2021.

On this occasion, officers discovered more than 900g of cannabis. Sizeland and Masters were arrested and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre.

Both defendants were subsequently charged with drugs offences.

The court heard how a bank production order for Sizeland’s account showed approximately £60,000 had been deposited into and withdrawn from her bank account between 10 November 2020 to 10 June 2021, despite Sizeland being unemployed and claiming government benefits.

Further analysis of Sizeland’s mobile phones showed text messages relating to the supply of drugs and exposed the scale of their drugs' supply operation.

PC James Loftus of South Norfolk and Broadland Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "This was an extensive investigation that resulted in more than 8kg of cannabis taken off the streets of Norfolk.

“We always ask the community to be our eyes and ears and report illegal or suspicious activity and it’s because of information like this from the community that we have been able to bring Sizeland and Masters to justice, so my thanks go to all those who shared information with us.

“This case reflects our commitment to stopping the sale of drugs in Norfolk and we will continue to target those involved in illegal drug activity.”
