Van Hooijdonk joins Norwich as Płacheta and Idah leave

Sydney van Hooijdonk has joined Norwich City on loan from Serie A side Bologna.

The 23-year-old arrives at Carrow Road having been with Bologna since July 2021 after starting his professional career with NAC Breda.

Since making the move to Italy, van Hooijdonk has also spent time on loan in the Eredivisie with SC Heerenveen.

Across all competitions, he netted 26 times in 54 appearances.

Internationally, he has featured at youth level for the Netherlands, making two appearances for the Under-21s.

He has been given the number 14 shirt, and will now link up with the Canaries for the remainder of this campaign.

There's also an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Joining the club, van Hooijdonk said: "The last few days have been hectic. Flying in yesterday and doing all the medicals. But finally, everything is done. I'm really happy.

"The training ground is amazing, and the facilities are great. I think there's everything to perform and work hard.

"I've met almost all the lads, and they're all really nice. It's been a warm welcome."

Płacheta moves to Swansea City

Polish winger Przemysław Płacheta has completed a permanent move from Norwich City to Swansea City.

Płacheta initially joined the Canaries from Ślask Wroclaw on a four-year deal in 2020.

He played 61 times for the team.

The 25-year-old also went on loan to Birmingham City at the start of the 2022/23 campaign.

He now joins Luke Williams' side who currently reside in 17th in the Championship standings.

Idah joins Celtic on loan

Adam Idah's completed a loan move to Scottish Premier League side Celtic, who sit top of the Scottish Premier League.

He'll be there for the remainder of the 2023/24 season.

Starting out in the academy, Idah has gone on to feature 115 times for the Canaries in all competitions, scoring 17 goals.

This season. the 22-year-old's scored six goals in the Championship.

He also scored in the FA Cup.
