Norwich City midfielder Todd Cantwell has completed a permanent transfer to Scottish side Rangers for an undisclosed fee.

It means Dereham-native Cantwell is leaving his boyhood side which he joined at the under-10s level.

The 24 year old rose through the ranks of the Academy to find a regular place in the first team side, making almost 130 appearances in Canaries colours.

He also completed loan spells at Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands and at Bournemouth last season.

Cantwell has played for England at the U17 and U21 level.

Speaking to the Canaries website, Norwich City sporting director Stuart Webber said: “It is always a poignant day when one of our own leaves the football club.

"Todd has been a terrific servant to both the club and our wider community and has shared some incredible highs with the football club.

“We all wish him well in this next step and have no doubt he will have a successful career. Todd and his family will forever be a part of Norwich City and will be welcome back anytime.”
