Norwich City Council warning residents not to fall for recent parking ticket text scam

The authority are reminding people that Norwich City Council will never send PCNs via text message

Norwich City Council say they have received reports that people are receiving text messages stating they have a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and a link to pay it.

The council are warning people this is a scam, adding that Norwich City Council will never send PCNs via text message.

The advice if you receive such a message is:

Do not click on any links or provide personal or financial information.

Report it to your mobile network provider by forwarding the message to 7726 (a free spam-reporting service).

Delete the message immediately.
