Norwich City have signed Christian Fassnacht from Swiss club BSC Young Boys.
The Winger joins the Canaries on a two year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Fassnacht, 29, who primarily operates as a right winger, travelled to City’s Austria training base on Sunday evening to join up with his new team-mates.
Speaking to canaries.co.uk, Fassnacht said: “I’m really happy to sign for Norwich City. To challenge myself outside of Switzerland, in this club, for me, it is a dream come true.
“I know the head coach very well. Of course, this was a big part of my decision to come to the club. We talked a lot and he gave me a really good feeling to make this move.
“I want to make the fans from Norwich happy by contributing goals and assists.”
During his time at Young Boys he worked with Norwich's head coach David Wagner - who managed the Swiss club.
Fassnacht had been with Young Boys since the summer of 2017.
In his first season he helped guide Young Boys to the Swiss league title, their first in 32 years, scoring 11 goals.
Further silverware would follow with four more league titles and two Swiss cups, as well as ventures into both the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.
In all competitions, Fassnacht has 75 goals in 251 appearances for Young Boys.
He has also represented Fussball Club Thun 1898, FC Winterthur and FC Tuggen, all in his native homeland and has four goals in 19 international caps for Switzerland.
Wagner said: “We are absolutely delighted to bring Christian here to Norwich City. He is a player I know very well, a top professional and he was desperate to come join us and test himself with a new experience.
“He has a track record, with many goals and assists at the top level in Switzerland and for the national team.
“This is a player we have targeted for some time. We have had to be patient, so it makes everyone involved very happy to get this over the line.
“We’re looking forward to working with Christian right away.”
Fassnacht will wear shirt number 16.
The club says his transfer is subject to international clearance and approval from the regulatory governing bodies.
