Groups across Norwich have been celebrating the resilience and positive work of refugees across the county, with a number of events over the last few days.
As part of 'Refugee Week', the Norwich-based support charity 'New Routes' have been working with local groups to fundraise for people who come here, with their programme 'Welcome Wheels'
"It's so important not just to share facts and information, but also to bring communities together"
Amélie Sells, from the group told us why work like this is all important:
"We provide free bikes to refugees and asylum seekers in Norwich when they first arrive. That can be really life-changing for people if you turn up somewhere and you are only given ÂŁ40 a week and that's for all food, clothes and toiletries, there is no way you can spend ÂŁ5 on bus pass every day".
"There is a lot of dis-information and mis-information around seeking asylum and refugees. It's so important not just to share facts and information, but also to bring communities together, share individual stories and celebrate the diversity that refugees and asylum seekers can bring".
