Norwich Airport closes after incident on runway
Police say there are no casualties
Norwich airport has temporary had to close and suspend all flights due to an incident on runway.
The incident happened at around 8:30 am this morning.
The incident has affected both departing and arriving flights, with some services being canncelled.
A spokesman for Norwich Airport said:
“We can confirm we are dealing with an incident involving a light aircraft which took place at 08:30 this morning. The runway is currently closed and is expected to reopen at 12:30 today. Passengers due to travel are advised to check with their airline for further details.”
A spokesperson for Norfolk police said:
"We were called at 8.41am today (8 July) following reports of an aircraft crash at Norwich airport (believe it was a small aircraft).
"There are No reported injuries.
"Officers attended but were stood down shortly afterwards."
The runway is expected to re-open at 12:30pm today.
