North Walsham Post Office has re-opened after a big refit of the Post Office and shop.

In October the branch in New Road was franchised to NG North Walsham Ltd. Neal Gurney, who is already the Postmaster of several branches in Norfolk, is in charge of this branch.

He undertook a project to fully modernise the premises to enhance the retail offering. He waited until after the busy Christmas period to carry out the work at his new branch

There are still four Post Office counters. Now there is also a specified counter for retail sales.

Printing and photocopying and passport/ID photos services are also available.

The work to refit the premises took three weeks. During that time a Mobile Post Office service and an outreach service at the Church hall to help maintain Post Office service to the community.

Matt Hatfull, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said:

"The whole Post Office and store looks modern and fresh. It looks really good."
