Lucie Harrowing is running 26.2 miles today (3 October) in the London Marathon, to help raise money for East Anglia's Children Hospice.
She told us it was a no-brainer to try and raise money for the charity she cared about so much.
"I live very close to one of the hospice, its literally down from the road from me. As a community, its a very well known charity and I've run for them before".
"Just the work they do supporting families, as a mother myself and somebody who works with young people in a daily basis, it's some thing I just connect with. It just seemed like an obvious choice".
She also told us that she has a range of personal motivations and ambitions going into the marathon itself:
"It's my first marathon, so honestly I'm doing it for experience. But the competitive side of me is thinking I can do it in about five hours. But we'll see on the day".
Ms Harrowing said she's lucky enough to have been able to get some practice in, thanks to local running events:
"Over the last couple of weeks, I've been involved in a few race that have been held in Norfolk. So, I've been able to some more recent experience of events, after having basically two years off, thanks to Covid".
She concluded by saying that this marathon might end up being her first of many:
"It's given me the marathon bug, definitely. Then again, I might say differently when I've finished. I will definitely apply to London again though, just the whole experience and its a big event that everybody knows. I'd love to go again, if given the chance".
