Norfolk teacher calls for 'long-term consensus' to improve education
The National Education Union's annual conference gets underway tomorrow
A teacher in Norfolk is calling for all political parties to help put together a long-term to improve the education system and make it fit for the future.
It comes a day before the National Education Union kick-off's their annual conference tomorrow in Harrogate- which runs until Thursday.
"We want them to think careful about how this will affect things"
Scott Lyons also works for the NEU in the county:
He says the future looks bleak unless things change quickly
"Parents will soon notice that there's going to be fewer teachers and teaching assistants in both primary and secondary schools.
"In secondary especially, you're just going to have less curriculum coverage and a more narrow choice of options, in high-schools and sixth forms".
"We don't want the Government or any of the political parties to be using education as a 'political football'.
"We want them to think careful about how this will affect things in the classroom and the wider community.
