In a written statement Chief Constable Paul Sanford has said that "Wayne Couzens "betrayed" and "turned against" everything Policing standings for.

He went on to say that the entirety of the profession had been rocked by this "horrific and deeply disturbing case" and that forces must continue to work harder to rebuild the trust lost.

Mr Sanford was quick to offer Norfolk Police's thoughts to her family and loved ones, before saying that his service are "committed to putting victims at the heart of what they do".

Andy Symonds, the Chairman of the Norfolk Police Federation told us that:

"At this stage I believe everything that needs to be said has been said on this vile individual".

"I will allow others to detail what the service now needs to do in order to start re-building the trust that has been eroded particularly for women".
