Norfolk police officer denies assaulting woman
Liam Abigail, 29, is due to stand trial in May next year.
A serving Norfolk Police officer has appeared in court charged with assault ABH.
Liam Abigail, 29, is alleged to have assaulted a woman in Peverell Road in Norwich in the early hours of 22 August 2023. The alleged incident took place while the officer was off duty.
PC Abigail appeared at Ipswich Magistrates Court on 6 March where the case was sent to Chelmsford Crown Court for a second hearing yesterday (Monday 8 April).
PC Abigail pleaded not guilty to the offence and will stand trial in May 2025.
The constable, based in Norwich, is currently suspended from duties.
