Could you help a Norfolk man celebrate his 100th birthday this month?

Staff at Chiswick House in Norwich are asking for people across the county to send a birthday card to resident David Sheldon on 21st October.

He won't be able to have a party with his family, because of COVID restrictions, but staff are still determined to help him celebrate.

David was born in Alton, and grew up in Windmill Cottage with his mother, and three brothers. He spent a lot of time outdoors as a child and enjoyed nature.

David enjoyed school, and his favourite subjects were art and science, and that passion propelled him into a career as a research chemist.

David told us about a science class which will always stick in his head with a beaming smile on his face, he said:

“When I was in school I took the highest school certificate in chemistry, one time I broke a burette in my lesson and I felt so guilty about it the teacher helped me try put it back together”.

If you can send a card, please send it to:
