The leader of a housing trust in Norfolk is telling us it's been an "incredible challenge" for them to balance the books and not make cuts to the frontline help those offer.

It's after Norfolk County Council reduced their support for homelessness services by £2 million- when putting together their annual budget for 2025.

"We will see more people on the streets and more deaths on the streets"

Dr Jan Sheldon is from St Martins:

She says this move will only put added pressure on other key settings:

"If we've got somebody on the streets, or who isn't getting the help they need, they will undoubtedly be causing a great expense in terms of health, pressures on the criminal justice services and the support services that help to keep them safe and build their lives again".

She told us what a continued fall in funding will mean in the longer term:

"We will see more people on the streets and more deaths on the streets, because people are not getting the help they need.

"So local and central Government need to be looking at the range of services to keep people safe and to reduce spending longer term in other areas".
