Norfolk in line for top award

Norfolk County Council's Adult Learning service has been recognised as one of the UK's leading education providers following its nomination for a major national award.
The service has been shortlisted by the Tes (Times Educational Supplement) Further Education awards in the 'Adult and community learning provider of the year' category.
The award recognises providers 'whose imagination and passion' have shown 'excellence in providing a high-quality curriculum with excellent student outcomes'.
Norfolk's adult learners have bucked the national trend throughout the pandemic with improvements in test scores and participation in qualification courses, which has fallen across the rest of the country.
Norfolk was also one of the first counties to move their adult learning completely online and saw over 3000 people learn virtually last year.
Ceri Sumner, Director of Community, Information and Learning at Norfolk County Council said:
"This nomination shows that Norfolk remains one of the best places in the country to live, work and learn. The pandemic posed a significant challenge to our staff and students, one that they rose to magnificently. They should be proud of everything they have achieved."

The winners of the Tes FE awards 2021 will be announced at an online ceremony on Friday 28 May 2021.
