Hundreds of boaters have been issued warnings for speeding and other offences on the Norfolk Broads.
Broads Authority rangers told some 1,136 people that their crafts were going too quickly or were committing another offence, between September and October.
Various speed limits are in force across the waterways, ranging from three to six miles per hour.
The data was revealed in a report to a recent meeting of Broads Authority’s navigation committee.
Some 891 were verbal or written warnings for speeding; 72 for ‘care and caution’; 75 for ‘other’ offences and 99 for ‘special directions’.
Most verbal speed warnings (387) were issued in Wroxham and the Upper Bure area.
The second highest number was at Irstead on the River Ant (232).
The number of warnings is a significant reduction on the summer months, when more boaters use the waterways, with 2,260 warnings issued between June and August.
The report also revealed that the Broads Authority has prosecuted four boaters.
Two sailing boats were fined a total of £1,253.79 for non-payment of tolls.
And a further two people were fined for overstaying and not having insurance – £1,530 for a motor cruise and £2,760 for a yacht.
