New special school opens for students in Wisbech
Riverside Meadows Academy can cater for 60 pupils with social, emotional or mental health needs
A new school for children with special educational needs has opened its doors in Wisbech.
The Riverside Meadows Academy in Wisbech Green has capacity for 60 young people with additional mental health, emotional or social needs.
It will be run by the Horizons Education Trust, which already has a site in St Neots.
Headteacher Chris Carey said: “So many people have worked so hard to make this vision a reality, and the impact this school will have on families in the Cambridgeshire area is immeasurable."

Horizons Education Trust CEO Dr Kim Taylor OBE said: ‘It is fantastic that this investment has been made for the Wisbech area and we now have this amazing new building for Cambridgeshire."
