Detectives issue fresh appeal for witnesses in Brandon murder investigation
It's after a woman's body was found in a pond last week.
Police investigating the death of a woman in Brandon Country Park have issued a fresh appeal for witnesses to come forward.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of the park, Bury Road, or surrounding streets on the morning of Friday 9th April, and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious.
They are asking any drivers who were in those areas between midnight and 7am on the, and has a dashcam on their vehicle, to get in touch with the inquiry team.
Any local residents with a camera doorbell or private CCTV are also being asked to review their footage, as well as anyone with motion activated dashcam footage.
It's after a woman's body was found in a pond at the park shortly before 7am that morning.
She's since been provisionally identified as 35 year-old Egle Vengaliene of Bury Road, pending formal inquest proceedings.
Andrius Vengalis, who's 46 and from Bury Road, has been charged with murder.
He appeared at Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 13th April, where he was committed to appear before Ipswich Crown Court later the same day.
He's been remanded in custody pending a next Crown Court appearance on Monday 19th July.
Police a large area of the park which had been cordoned off to allow for extensive searches and examinations, has now reopened as police scenes have been lifted.
Officers say they'd like to thank members of the public for their understanding and support as this very important work was carried out.
Police patrols are going to continue in the area to provide reassurance to the local community.
