Man appears in Norwich court charged with murder

A man's appeared at Norwich Crown Court charged with murder after a man was stabbed in the neck in North Walsham.

Matthew Constantinou, who's 41 and from Antingham Drive, has been remanded in custody and will go to trial in April next year.

It's comes after police were called to Antingham Drive shortly before 11.30pm on Friday 2nd October to reports from paramedics of a stabbing.

Police found the injured man on nearby Bacton Road - he received treatment but died at the scene.

Mr Constantinou was one of two men arrested at the scene.

The second man, who was arrested on suspicion of assault, has since been released and police say no further action will be taken against him.

A Home Office Post Mortem, which took place on Saturday 3rd October, established that the victim died of a single stab wound.

Police have provisionally identified the victim as Thomas Moore, who was 42 and from North Walsham.

A police cordon that was in place on Antingham Drive has now been lifted.

Detective Inspector Lewis Craske, said: "We are working to establish what happened in the events leading up to Friday's death. In particular we want to understand the relationship, if any, between the victim and the suspect, but at this early stage we believe this to be an isolated incident.

"If anyone has any information that would help our investigators, we would be very keen to hear from them."
