Three members of a group of so-called 'paedophile hunters' have been arrested on assault and false imprisonment charges after confronting a man in Norwich.

The suspects, from Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, were detained after raids on Thursday (November 17).

A 49-year-old man from Long Eaton, Derbyshire, was questioned on suspicion of false imprisonment.

A 56-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

The 56-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of assault.

It comes after an incident earlier this week when members of the activist group confonted a Norwich man, suspected of child sex offences.

A 55 year old man was later arrested in Garden Street in Norwich. He has since been released under investigation.

Police say members of the group have been bailed until January 17 next year.
