A dog has been left seriously ill after eating meatballs laced with slug pellets, which were left on a footpath in Great Yarmouth,

The animal consumed around 20 of them on Granville Road on Wednesday 28th July and has since made a full recovery.

Police are treating the incident as animal cruelty and are urging other pet owners to be vigilant, warning slug pellets can be fatal to both cats and dogs if eaten.
