A man has been tasered on the Norfolk Broads - after refusing to stop a boat for police.
Two officers were hurt after being attacked with a fire extinguisher.
It happened in Cantley - near Great Yarmouth - in the early hours of Monday morning.
Officers were called to a boat at a mooring in Station Road after a man was reported as being abusive and threatening towards Coastguard staff and a lifeboat crew after the boat had ran aground.
The man then left the scene on the boat.
Officers caught up with him and further threats were made before the man headed off again along the River Yare.
Further threats were made after officers caught up with him again on the River Yare and a fire extinguisher was discharged on the boat.
Two male officers were injured in the incident – one officer sustained a minor head injury and another received cuts to his hands.
A taser was deployed by officers to resolve the situation effectively and safely.
36-year-old Tom Smith - of no fixed address - has been charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and one count of criminal damage.
