Police are appealing for witnesses after a man sustained knife wounds in Norwich.

The victim, a man in his 40s, walked to the medical centre in Rouen Road just after 4.30pm on Monday 21 October 2024 when police were called.

He was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Today, Tuesday 22 October 2024, a man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and possession of a knife in a public place. He has been taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Enquiries are ongoing and detectives believe the incident happened in the Ber Street area between the junctions of Thorn Lane and Horns Lane.

Det Sgt Andy Collinson said: “This happened at a busy time of day so we are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw what happened in the time leading up to it, or the aftermath.

“The same goes for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage which could help the investigation.

“We are in the early stages of our inquiries but we can say that we do believe the two men were known to each other.”
