Man pleads guilty to driving offences, criminal damage and handling stolen goods in Norwich

It follows a series of incidents between the 28 June and the 21 August

A man has appeared in court after pleading guilty to numerous driving offences, criminal damage and handling stolen goods in Norwich.

Following a number of incidents between 28th June and 21st August 2024, 19-year-old Charlie Barrett of St Mary’s Road, Stalham pleaded guilty to three counts of handling stolen goods, criminal damage, theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

On one occasion, Barrett was found in possession of a stolen Honda moped which was stolen from Gertrude Road in the early hours of the morning on 28 June 2024.

He also drove a Yamaha moped on false number plates dangerously in July and on the 21st August he stole a Yamaha moped from outside an address on St Olaves Road.

He was arrested on Wednesday 21 August and later charged.

He was remanded on conditional bail and is due to be sentenced at Norwich Crown Court on 23 September 2024.
