A man's been jailed for more than two years for drug dealing in Great Yarmouth.

Mohammed Rahman, 20, of New City Road in London, appeared at Norwich Crown Court last week (Friday 7 July 2023), having previously pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply and two counts of being concerned in the supply of heroin.

He was sentenced to two years and four months in prison.

Rahman was arrested on Sunday 29 May 2022 following a stop and search in Station Road, Great Yarmouth.

Officers seized 42 wraps of drugs, a cannabis grinder and ÂŁ75 cash.

Further enquiries and evidence from his phone showed Rahman had been working with a County Lines gang, bringing Class A drugs into Norfolk.

Investigating officer, PC Harry Martin said: “Drug dealing has a devastating impact on local communities. It is often a route cause for anti-social behaviour and violence, particularly between youths.

“Hopefully, this case and the sentence given to the individual shows that positive action will be taken against those that deal drugs, especially those operating in County Lines.”
