A man is due to appear in court today charged with firearms offences - after a man was shot in the leg in Brandon.

It happened between 10:30pm and 11pm on Monday night outside of an address on the High Street.

The victim, a man in his 40s, called police the following day to report he had been injured by a shotgun - he did not need treatment in hospital.

Police searched an address on Riverside Way on Tuesday, seizing firearms and ammunition.

36 year old Jason Anderson, of Riverside Way, is charged with two counts of failing to comply with the conditions of a firearm certificate and possession of an imitation firearm intent to cause fear of violence.

He will appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court today (Thursday 15).
