A man has died after a collision involving a lorry and a car in Fritton.

Emergency services were called to the incident, involving a Vauxhall Zafira and a HGV tanker, at just after 4pm yesterday. The driver of the Zafira died in the crash, and a passenger was also taken to hospital with minor injuries. They have since been released.

Police have shut the road overnight, and investigations into the incident continue. Officers have worked throughout to clear debris on the road

Sgt Ben Hawkins from Roads Policing said: “This is the second fatal road traffic collision we have experienced today following the fatal collision at Thurton where a man sadly died.

"We are entering the busiest shopping weekend of the year, a week before Christmas so the roads will be extremely busy. This, coupled with the fact that the roads remain very icy due to the ongoing cold snap, not just overnight, but during the day as well, makes the hazards clear to all."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Nofolk police on 101, quoting CAD 247 of 16 December 2022
