Man charged with 'intentionally strangling' police officer in Norwich
A man in his 40s has been charged after the incident on Tuesday
A man has been charged with assaulting and intentionally strangling a police officer in Norwich.
It happened after officers were called to reports of a man shouting and attempting to break in to a home on Starling Road on Tuesday (November 14).
The officer was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital after the incident and has since been discharged.
43 year old John Charlton, of William Kett Close, is accused of assaulting an emergency worker, and intentionally strangling an emergency worker.
He appeared before Norwich Magistrates' Court yesterday (November 15) and has been bailed ahead of another court appearance on December 13.
