Man charged with Dereham murder after man in his 30's dies

A 40-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a man in Dereham.

Paramedics were called to an address in Dereham at around 5am on Sunday (21 July 2024) following reports that a man aged in his 30s inside the property was unwell. He was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where sadly he died on Sunday evening.

On Tuesday police were notified of the man’s death and enquiries revealed a serious assault had occurred outside the Red Lion Pub in Dereham on Saturday evening.

A murder investigation was launched and a man aged in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday. He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning where he remains.

A post-mortem examination reveals the cause of death as a traumatic head injury.

Tyrone Busch, of St Withburga Lane, Dereham, has been remanded into custody to appear before Norwich Magistrates’ Court today.
